My retell of a short movie

Once there was a grumpy old man who did not like the noise in the village so he slammed the window shut in an angry mean angry way. About 10 seconds later the window slammed open and blew out the bright candle. He looked very scared so he got up from his chair and he tripped over his wooden old chair got his lantern and ran up the stairs as quick as a cheetah. So he saw a big huge  machine in front of him and looked all around the huge big machine then he ran up some more stairs and saw where the huge big old light was. It was not working so he lifted the big old light up and then he tripped over his tool box and it was broken. The look on his face it looked as if he was about to cry. Then a huge ship was coming and it was about to crash in to the lighthouse so he rushed as quickly as he could down the stairs and opened the door and the villages  came with there lanterns.
THE END!

The awesome lighthouse building

On Friday the 22nd of May 2015 I made a lighthouse it was not big but I was still proud of myself. First I got my orange shoe box then I got my bottle and I went to the short kneeling table and hot glue gunned it then I went back to my table. I got my piece of cardboard and cut some stairs out for my lighthouse. After I cut it out and took off my lid and tried  to put it down the little hole but guess what, it couldn't fit down the little hole so I took it out and cut some of the stairs out. Then I went to hot glue gun it down to the bottom of the bottle. When I went back to my table I said to Sienna" Can I borrow one of your sticks" and she said" Yes". But sorry I don't need these sticks. So I went up to Mrs Hook with my lighthouse and I said" Can you please cut the top off my bottle and she said
"Okay". So she tried to cut the top off my bottle but it took her quite a long time but she did it. After Mrs hook cut the top off my bottle I got my cardboard again. Then I cut a circle and every time I tried to put it in the top of my bottle it kept on falling to the bottom of my bottle. So finally it fitted in the hole. So I went down to the kneeling table again where the hot glue guns were and I got an adult and I said " Can you please hot glue gun a little bit of my bottle?" and then she said" I don't think that will work so I think you should go back to your table and put your light bulb first and then I will help you put your top off your bottle". I went back to my table and got the light bulb holder and the two wires with the light bulb and battery . I said" Brenna can you please help me?" and she said "Yes". I screwed on the light bulb on the light bulb holder. Then I sellotaped the light bulb holder to the cardboard and sellotaped the wires on to the sides of the light bulb holder and I sellotaped the battery on the shoe box. After I did that I sellotaped one of the wires to the bottom of the battery. Back at the kneeling table with the top of the bottle, I hot glued gunned it where it was before Mrs Hook cut it off. After that was done I was finished my lighthouse.

My lighthouse senses poem

It smells dusty and it smells rusty in my lighthouse.
It tastes like dried paint and old rusty wood.
It sounds like the waves crashing on the bottom of the lighthouse.
It feels like the birds flying happily on a bright sunny day.
It looks rusty and old like scrunched up paper.

My entry of Tiritiri lighthouse

On the 1st of January 2015, supporters of Tiritiri lighthouse celebrated the lighting of their lighthouse. They marked the 1st of January with a very special event.

The Tiritiri lighthouse was first lit on the 1st January 1865 and is the oldest lighthouse still standing in New Zealand.

You can get to Tiritiri lighthouse by ferry or by driving.  The ferries leave Auckland to Tiritiri by Gulf Harbour where they pick up more passengers.

Mrs Ward's 2 amazing ww1 quilts

On Wednesday Mrs Ward came in and talk about her amazing 2 quilts. The 1st quilt that she show us was bigger than the last quilt. There were two brothers and a grandad. But sadly that the two brothers past away Ernest (oldest) died while taking a bath in a pond then a bomb came down and exploded and he died so the (because of the bomb)so the delivery boy went up to the door and knocked and the delivery boy handed over the telegram . A week later Alnest (youngest) died and so the boy went up again to the door and knocked on the door and gave the telegram again sadly. Six weeks later the grandad had gone missing, but the the delivery boy got the telegram from the boss and was going to their house but he was to scared to knock on the door for the third time. So he kept it in his bag .  A week later the grandad got found and he survied and he wasn't dead. When he went home from war the mum and dad had passed away.  So that was the first quilt.

My Autumn poem

The grass is tickling and laughing  together.
The dust is forming a huge tornado.
The trees are pulling a leaf off and painting each other.
The clouds are making beautiful sculptures.
